Magazine Clips of the Month: September Edition

Lauren Conrad

I keep a teeny leather book full of my (favorite) magazine clippings.  I’m a magazine FREAK by the way.  I love them so much. I can’t throw them away. They are sitting in a triumphant pile near my bed.  I like them thick. I like them juicy. I like them without cover stories dedicated to Vanessa Hudgens.

Regardless, I thought it would be fun to start a small column on my blog fulfilled with “knock off snippets” or my original leather book.  Ok, so here goes. First page.

Dial Up Date Advice: iphone apps that make you skinny!

Soleil Organics ($1) : iphone, motorola droid [It will drag you to your cheapest (most worth it) organic buy!]

Good Food Near You (FREE!) : iphone, Blackberry [It will pinpoint your location and point you in the direction of a healthy food place of your dreams!]

Locavore ($3) : iphone [Pinpoints your location and directs you to local farmers markets with in-season vegis and fruits. Bon apetite folks.

New Hairdo to try: Try the bedhead updo. Crawl out of bed, spray some dry shampoo on those roots and throw it together.

Vanessa Hudgens

I know, I hate myself too for using this picture.

If you’re in college, if you want some great treats: buy Weight Watchers Cheese Wheels & Jello-O Mouse (60 decadent calories a pop).

Jennifer Lopez

I look like this every morning.

Rawr Lopez. Rawr.

“Glamour is profound. Glamour is saying: I want to be as beautiful as I can be-to myself first and then to anyone else who has enough sense to see it.” ~Maya Angelou (author)

In 5 Minutes: Braided Headband

Lauren ConradTake a 2-inch section of hair from behind your let ear and braid it down to the ends. Flip braided section over and then wrap it across the top of your head. Secure with bobby pins.

Take Two Minutes in the Morning to Plan out your meals.

Liam Hemsworth & Miley Cyrus

Young Love. Don't cringe.

Tips from the Queen of Confidence (Queen Latifah, duhskies).

A cheap radiance booster: “Mix baking soda with water and use it on your face as an exfoliator. My grandmother always gave me that tip.”

No more greasy eyelids! “I dip my brush in a little water before apply shadow. It lasts longer.”

Do less, look amazing. “I don’t like it when women wear too much makeup – it should be natural. And this is coming from someone with her own makeup line.”

To prevent fried ends: “I condition my hair in the shower at night and rinse it in the morning.”

Her get-ahead advice: “Be fair. It’s not good to be a nasty person. People remember that.”
